MEET LAKESHA BURTON
“My campaign is about you, not about power, prestige or party.
Join us as we bring about a LEADERSHIP FOR CHANGE!”
Retired JSO Assistant Chief Lakesha Burton is the leader who will bring change to Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. During more than 24 years of professional law enforcement experience she set records for reducing crime in the area she commanded for JSO. During her time as a patrol and enforcement commander in the Arlington/Beaches area, she and her team of officers reduced murders, gunfire, burglaries and home invasions more than did officers in any other zone. She’s ready to engage citizens, businesses and other stakeholders in a new brand of community policing.
ENDORSMENTS
For Lakesha Burton for Sheriff

LT. LARRY GAYLE
Retired JSO Police
Burton wants neighborhood officers to get to know the folks in the areas they patrol and build meaningful relationships. She wants officers to be public servants, both guardian and warrior – not just one or the other. She understands that service can require force but also service is about compassion. A sheriff is the face of the agency.

BISHOP RUDOLPH W. MCKISSICK JR. AND FIRST LADY KIM MCKISSICK
